How to prepare for  “Test of General Awareness”?

Preparing for General awareness is not possible when time is less.

First let us see topics and number of marks expected from each topic-
(common both for PO/Clerk and pattern IBPS/SBI Ass.)

Emphasis will be given to a particular category with special reference to banking.  More questions could be asked on subjects like Banking, Finance awareness & Economy, in case of  “Test of General awareness” questions on Current Affairs, Indian & World politics, social & cultural events, Awards & Appointments, Books & Authors, Committee & Commissions, National & International Summits & global business can be asked in competitive exams.

How to score more?

No miracle, no any tips & tricks works for General awareness. It must be started well in advance.

Preparing for General knowledge is not possible when time is very less. Read daily newspapers, news magazines, and general knowledge books. Gather information from sources like:

  1. Banking.
  2. Financial Sector

Information of 5 to 6 months on above topics may help. In particular, the topics mentioned below are equally important; a lot of emphasis will be given on them.

  1. RBI.
  2. Finance commission.
  3. Stock Market.
  4. Central Government Schemes etc.

Only way to crack question of “Test of General Awareness” form a group of like minded people preparing for bank exams and start discussing various issues on current affairs, as group discussions can make preparations interesting & active for better memory.

1- Newspaper is the best source of current affairs - general awareness. Start reading  newspaper daily, make daily notes and repeat it 2-3 times a day.

2- Try to read both english and hindi news paper. It would be helpful in both general awareness and english communication.

3- Watch daily half an hour news . Generally we can remember visual things whatever we watch instead of reading.

4- Purchase any current affairs montly magzine like Pratiyogita Darpan, Success Mirror etc. Read that book daily, make notes, highlight some important points.
Also you can make some questions also on the matter you read.

5-  Best way of preparing for current affairs is playing quiz with your friends on topics related to current affairs general awareness.

6:- Make a dairy , divide in different parts- Sports, awards, science, political, national , international etc. write down related news according topic

7- Also you can read your notes and record in your voice and when you get time listen it. It will help you to keep it in your mind.
